Publication Ethics
This publication ethics statement applies to all parties involved in the publishing process at Institut Bisnis Nusantara, including the publisher, editorial board, reviewers, and authors. The authorship of papers published in the Institut Bisnis Nusantara Journal belongs to the respective authors, and publishing with Institut Bisnis Nusantara is free from any conflicts of interest. Authors are expected to submit original, plagiarism-free content. The editorial board’s decision regarding publication is final. The three main areas of ethical responsibility include the duties of Editors, Authors, and Reviewers.
Author’s Duties
Original Research and Plagiarism-Free Submission
Authors must submit original research that accurately reflects the scope and objectives of the study. The data presented must be accurate and reliable. Sufficient detail and appropriate citations must be provided to allow others to reference the work. Inaccurate claims and unethical behavior are unacceptable. Any use of others' work or words must be properly cited or quoted. Authors must ensure that their submission is entirely original.
Multiple Publication
Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal or major publication simultaneously. Submitting the same work to multiple journals is considered unethical and unacceptable.
Authorship of Manuscript
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All individuals who have made substantial contributions must be listed as co-authors. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the manuscript and have agreed to its submission.
Fundamental Errors in Published Manuscripts
If authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, it is their obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and to cooperate in retracting or correcting the paper.
Reviewer’s Duties
Objectivity Standards
Reviews must be conducted objectively. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments, providing constructive feedback to help authors improve their manuscripts. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers must ensure that all relevant prior work is properly cited. Any substantial similarity or overlap with other sources, whether published or unpublished, must be reported to the editors.
Conflicts of Interest
Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from the review process if necessary, so that alternative reviewers may be assigned.
Editor’s Duties
Editorial Decision Contribution
Editors are supported by reviewers in making editorial decisions and work collaboratively with authors to help them improve their manuscripts. Editorial decisions must be fair, unbiased, and based solely on the quality and relevance of the submission.
Confidentiality
All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shared or discussed with others except as authorized by the Editor-in-Chief. This obligation applies to both internal and external reviewers.
Publication Decisions
Editors ensure that every manuscript submitted is evaluated through a peer-review process by at least two independent and expert reviewers. The Editor-in-Chief holds the ultimate responsibility for deciding which manuscripts are published, based on the validity of the work, its relevance to researchers and readers, the reviewers’ recommendations, and adherence to legal and ethical standards, including libel, copyright, and plagiarism considerations. The Editor-in-Chief may consult with other editors or reviewers as part of the decision-making process.
